Your privacy is the reason FreeConvertio exists. Unlike conventional file converters that upload your documents to remote servers, FreeConvertio processes files entirely on your own device, inside your browser. This policy explains what information we do and do not collect, how cookies and advertising work on this site, and the rights you have over your data.

1. Our core privacy design: on-device processing

When you use our PDF tools, image tools, converters, or calculators, your files are processed locally using browser technologies such as WebAssembly, HTML5 Canvas, and JavaScript running on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers — we operate no file-storage backend for tool processing. Nothing you convert is stored, logged, or backed up by us. When you close or refresh the tab, the browser releases the working memory. We cannot see, open, or recover your documents, photos, audio, or code, because they never leave your machine.

2. Information we collect

We deliberately collect the minimum possible: (a) support correspondence — if you contact us, we receive your email address and message so we can reply, kept up to 12 months and never sold; (b) basic technical logs — our hosting provider may log standard web-server data (pages requested, timestamps, browser type, approximate region) for security and reliability, never used to identify individuals; (c) preferences on your device — interface choices saved in your browser's local storage, which stay on your device. We do not require accounts and never ask for payment details to use the tools.

3. Cookies and advertising (Google AdSense)

FreeConvertio is free for everyone, supported by advertising. Third parties, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. Google and other third-party vendors may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons / IP addresses, to collect information for ad serving and measurement.

Because tool processing happens on your device, there is normally no account data or file history to retrieve or delete. To exercise any right, email support@freeconvertio.com with the subject "Privacy request" — we respond within 30 days. We do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

5. Children's privacy

FreeConvertio is a general-audience productivity site, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Security, retention, and contact

The site is served over HTTPS. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed (up to 12 months).
